The method involves printing a flat image (10) consisting of several partial images interleaved linewise or pixelwise and with different parallax shifts. The image is observed via a lens raster foil (14) which enables the different images to be viewed from different spatial directions. The image is printed directly onto the flat reverse side (18) of the lens raster foil. The foil has a multilayer structure with a first film forming the lens raster and a second film of a different material forming the reverse side. The second film material is suitable for printing with an electrographical or electrophotographical printer or with an ink jet printer. The focal plane of the lenses in the raster coincides with the surface forming the reverse side of the foil.
