Plunger activated switch for resetting vehicle trip mileage instruments

The plunger actuated switching stage is of a type that is used to provide resetting of a trip mileage meter in a road vehicle. The device has a housing 8 with a bore 9 in which is located the plunger 7 and this has a tip section shaped with a pair of angled spring arms 14, 15 that press against the sides of the bore. The end surface of the plunger is located against a spring contact 16 that is displaced to engage a fixed contact 17 mounted on the housing plate 1. When the contacts are closed a signal is received by the electronic circuit to effect reset.
