The image generation, in which an image is copied to a medium, uses image transfer by a continuous transfer belt to a second transfer stage. The transfer belt or body has a surface energy greater than or equal to the upper surface energy of the medium.The surface energy of the transfer belt or body is less than or equal to 41 dyn/cm. The linear speed of the medium and transfer belt differ from each other. The surface roughness of the transfer belt is in the range 0.6 to 0.9 microns.
