The method for casting a component (1), in particular, one made of light weight alloys where a lost-foam core (4) is packed in sand serves as a casting mould for the component. The method is characterised by the pre-produced structural element (5, 8) of the component (1) which is appropriately positioned relative to the component in the lost-foam core (4), and is at least in parts directly covered by this core.
