Metal strip bending process for rails of doors and windows

The bending process involves stretching the metal onto the faceplate of a bending machine with a thrust unit against it. The thrust unit is a block (8), which has special flanks (11) lying against the metal strip (2). The block flanks and the endface flank (12) of the chuck jaw (4) are arranged to merge with each other, with their facing edges (13,14) in opposite positions.The faceplate is then turned. The block may be mounted on a bearing axis (15) which has sectors of different lengths, with the shorter one facing the chuck jaw. The block flanks may be deformed to fit the shape of the metal strip.
