The invention concerns a structural theft-protection device for motor vehicles, the device having a lock-control unit (30) designed to release an engine-control device (31), a code-recognition unit (20, 21) connected to the lock-control unit (30) and a device (32), also connected to the lock-control unit (30), for the determination of a vehicle-occupation parameter (t, S), as well as several fixed code-acceptance/output stations (10, 11). The lock-control unit (30) only keeps the engine-control device (31) open if fresh release information is fed to the lock-control unit (30) by one of the code-acceptance/output stations (10, 11), preferably at regular intervals.
