The present invention relates to a process for returning to the nominal advance. This process is implemented within a strategy for an electronic control of an internal combustion engine when a pinking phenomenon has been detected and when a process for removing the ignition advance has led to the suppression of the pinking. According to the invention, this process is characterized in that it comprises: counting the number of good detections (x) of pinking which have occurred during a given number of combustion cycles; determining for each of the counted detections what was the energy level (E) of the pinking, and calculating the average energy level corresponding to the counted detection number; weighting the number of detections with respect to the average energy level; and comparing the weighted number of detections (z) with a set of thresholds (S0 to Sn) which have been predetermined by experimentation in order to deduce a law of return to the nominal advance.
|
