Gas-tight pipe connection

A pin component is incorporated in the pipe connection and has a threaded section complementary to the muff element to which a thread-free section extending to the face-side end connects.The thread-free sections in the screwed state come into contact with each other and form a metallic sealing system. The inner face surface of the muff and the outside face surface of the pin component are so formed in the thread-free section that a thrust shoulder is built. The metallic sealing system has two spaced apart contact surface pairs (2,3,4;4,2), of which the basic seal effect through loads is differently reinforced independently of one another and of which at least one contact surface pair (2,3) have geometrically different cross-section contours.
