A 6-methoxy-1H-benzotriazole-5-carboxamide derivative represented by general formula (I) or pharmacologically acceptable acid-addition salts thereof, a process for producing the same, a medicinal composition containing a compound of formula (I) or a pharmacologically acceptable acid-addition salt thereof, and a novel intermediate therefor: wherein R1 represents ethyl or cyclopropylmethyl; R2 represents hydrogen, methyl or ethyl; n represents 1, 2 or 3; and the wavy line () means that the configuration of the carbon atom having the bond represented by the same is either racemic (RS) or optically active (R or S). The compound is excellent in both antiemetic and digestive function increasing effects and is reduced in the central nervous system depressant effect, and hence it is useful as a digestive function ameliorant for treating and preventing various digestive function disorders accompanying the treatment of various diseases.
