PURPOSE: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery with excellent stability even if graphite is deteriorated at the terminal stage of the cycle life by using an electrode, which is produced by forming a highly crystalline graphite layer on an electric collector and a low crystalline carbon layer on the graphite layer, as a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION: As to a negative meso-phase small spherical bodies graphitized at temperature as high as 2800 deg.C is used as a main component of a graphite mix. Three pts. by wt. of styrene-butadiene rubber is mixed with 100 pis. by wt. of the meso-phase graphite and the mixture is suspended in an aqueous carboxymethyl cellulose solution to give a paste. The paste is applied to both sides of the graphite mix layer, dried, and rolled, and then formed into negative plate. The negative plate is composed of a copper foil 8, which is an electric collector, the graphite mix layer 9, and a carbon mix layer 10. |
