Process for stabilizing hydroxy-ketonic products liable to instability problems and evolution of color

A method of stabilizing hydroxy ketone products is provided in which a product such as a diacetone alcohol which has high instability and colour evolution, making transport difficult, is stabilized by adding para-tertiary-butyl-catechol in solid form or in solution. A colour stability of at least 100 days can be achieved.
