PURPOSE:To perform lubrication excellently with respect to each gear, by providing a lateral wall equipped with an oil reservoir portion thereupon, at the lower portion of a follower gear of a balancer shaft between the end wall of a cylinder block and the driving gear supporting wall of a crankshaft. CONSTITUTION:A crank shaft 5 is supported by journal gearing portions 12 respectively at each position of the front end wall 3b of a cylinder block, fore and after partition walls 9 and 10 dividing a crank room 4 and a supporting wall 11 arranged at a rear end wall 3a. On the other hand, a balancer shaft 6 is supported by journal bearing portions 13 at the position of the front partition wall 9 and the supporting wall 11 respectively. At this time, a lateral wall is formed below a follower gear 8 between the rear end wall 3a and the supporting wall 11 to connect them to each other. An oil reservoir portion 15 is formed on the upper face on the lateral wall for the end flow oil discharged from the journal bearing portion 13. Thereby, the end flow oil in the oil reservoir 15 can be supplied to each of a driving gear 7 and the follower gear 8. |
