A hydrogen-occlusion electrode is described, manufactured by mixing a hydrogen-occlusion alloy powder as a main component, an electroconductive material, a bonding material and a thickener together with water to make a slurry mixture. The resultant slurry mixture is applied to an electroconductive porous or perforated substrate and is dried and pressed. According to the invention, the hydrogen-occlusion electrode contains a thickener amounting to 0.5 wt.% or less based on the weight of the hydrogen-occlusion alloy, this resulting in an improved charge-discharge characteristics and an improved internal pressure of the battery. |
