PURPOSE: To very simply and inexpensively produce circularly knitted fabric which is excellent in color attractiveness with reduced whitening on the fabric surface, as it simultaneously gives smooth and resilient feeling and soft fabric hand like thinly raised silk cloth. CONSTITUTION: Regenerated cellulose continuous filaments containing 5-35% of polyester or polyamide continuous filaments are circularly knitted to give this knit fabric. In the knit fabric, the regenerated cellulose filaments occupy more than 40% of the fabric surface, the loop-form regenerated cellulose filaments on the outermost surface are fibrillated and the filament breakage number is less than 40%, preferably less than 20% of the filament number of the regenerated cellulose filaments constituting the outermost surface. Further, the number of deformed large loops protruding out of the loop-forming fiber bundle is less than 80 per 1cm<2> of the surface area. |
