PURPOSE: To provide a metallic carrier for purification of waste gas excellent in durability and profitableness by adjacently disposing plural metallic honeycomb bodies and joining at least parts of the adjacent edge faces of the honeycomb bodies. CONSTITUTION: This metallic carrier MS consists of a metallic honeycomb body H having a honeycomb structure formed by alternately laminating flat and corrugated band plates each made of a thin metallic plate and used for carrying a catalyst for purification of waste gas and metallic casing C housing the honeycomb body H. The honeycomb body H consists of adjacently disposed plural metallic honeycomb bodies H1 , H2 and at least parts of the adjacent edge faces of the honeycomb bodies H1 , H<2> have been joined to each other. The entire honeycomb body H has a flexible structure and also has a structure excellent in thermal stress and thermal shock resistances. |
