PURPOSE: To produce an aluminum alloy for die casting, improved in high temp. strength, wear resistance, and vibration absorbing property. CONSTITUTION: This aluminum alloy has a composition which contains 1-7% Cu, 10-16% Si, 0.3-2% Mg, 0.5-2% Fe, 0.1-4% Mn, 0.01-0.3% Ti, 0.001-0.02% P, and 0.0001-0.02% Ca and further contains, if necessary, 0.2-6% Ni and in which P/Ca is regulated to 0.5-50 by weight ratio. Casting is performed at≃20 deg.C/sec cooling rate, and the average major axis of crystallized substances is regulated to <=20μm. By refining primary-crystal Si, eutectic Si and high melting point metal crystallized substances, wear resistance, vibration absorbing property and high temp. strength can be improved.
