A coupling bar (1) connects together conveyor belts (4, 5) which have at their ends (6, 7) connecting elements (8, 9) with coupling eyelets (10, 11). The coupling bar (1) comprises core pieces (2) of defined lengths aligned within the interior of a casing element (3) which is made of a relatively soft material which can deform during operation.
