MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY AGAINST MURINE VLA-1 MOLECULE

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject antibody useful for elucidating mechanisms of migration, differentiation and proliferation of cells in development of animal embryos and further curing of wounds, canceratd cell metastasis, etc., functional analysis of an extracellular matrix(ECM) in chronic artlcular rheumatism diseases, immunotherapy, diagnosis, etc. CONSTITUTION: A monoclonal antibody capable of specifically reacting with a very late activation antigen(VLA)-1 molecule which is a murine cell surface molecule or its active fragment. A rodent is immunized and sensitized with a murine neuroblastoma cell strain (C1300) as an antigen regarded as expressing the VLA-1 and a cell of the spleen of the rodent is fused to a cell of a myeloma to provide hybridomas. A hybridoma capable of producing the monoclonal antibody against the VLA-1 is selected therefrom and cultured under suitable conditions to produce the monoclonal antibody.
