PURPOSE: To provide an aging pit of steam aging equipment capable of easily absorbing the expansion pressure of slag, prolonging the device life by intensifying the resistance to the heat of steam, facilitate loading and delivering of the slag and stabilizing the quality of the aged slag. CONSTITUTION: The aging pit of the steam aging equipment for executing steam aging of the steel making slag at the atm. by supplying steam from below is equipped with a moving wall 2 on the aging pit side wall 1A. This moving wall is so movably formed as to move according to the expansion pressure of the steel making slag simultaneously with the start of the steam aging treatment and to make self-resetting to the initial position before the movement according to discharging of the steel making slag after the completion of the steam aging treatment. The surface part to which the moving wall 2 of the aging pit side wall 1A comes into sliding contact is formed to a slope having a downward grade toward the inner side of the pit.
