PURPOSE: To obtain a clay pavement material which enables a suitable hardness against spikes to be maintained, prevents becoming muddy, and facilitates the maintenance by mixing hard clay with a specific resin and a hardener. CONSTITUTION: The clay pavement material is a hard material in the form of block and is produced by mixing 90-50vol.% hard clay with 10-50 vol.% vinyl acetate resin and, as the hardener, 0.1-5vol.% portland cement or calcium sulfate, (adding a colorant), adding water, kneading and molding the resulting mixture, and drying the product. The colorant is added in an amt. of 0.1-5wt.% based on the sum of hard clay and the resin. Water is added in such an amt. as to give the mixture a water content of 10-20%. The mixture can be molded into a block with a side of 300mm or higher and dried. The material is used by applying it to the part always exposed to spikes and covering it with a surface material. |
