PURPOSE: To improve the wettability with a nonpolar solvent of a fluororesin surface to thereby greatly improve the printability and coatability of the surface. CONSTITUTION: The surface of a fluororesin 2 having side chains having alkoxy or alkoxycarbonyl groups each having at least one hydrogen atom substd. by a fluorine atom is modified by irradiating it with ultraviolet rays or vacuum ultraviolet rays from low-voltage mercury lamps 1 followed by heating. Pref. the heating temp. is lower than the thermal decomposition temp. and m.p. of the resin and is a temp. at which the micro-Brownian motion of the resin becomes vigorous.
