PURPOSE: To prevent the putrefaction of the feed with microorganisms during storage to improve the preservability of the feed, and further to oxidatively decompose lignin contained in the feed to improve the digestive absorbability of the feed, by bringing the livestock feed into contact with ozone to sterilize the feed. CONSTITUTION: The livestock feed is brought into contact with ozone to sterilize the feed. Concretely, for example, the air of ozone raw material is sent to an ozone generator 4 with a compressor 3 to generate the ozone. The generated ozone is injected into a feed storage tank 1 and brought into contact with the feed. When the feed is supplied or discharged into or from the storage tank, for example, only the compressor 3 is operated, and only air is sent to the feed storage tank 1 to perfectly remove the unreacted ozone from the storage tank 1. The unreacted ozone discharged from the storage tank 1 is decomposed with oxygen in a discharged ozone-decomposing device 5, and subsequently released in the atmosphere. The water content of water in the treating feed is preferably controlled to 20%. |
