PURPOSE: To provide an artificial floating island provided with a natural scene further to be capable of promoting upbringing plants, inhabiting fishes, etc., in a condition approximate to nature, and to provide accommodated facilities protecting the artificial floating island from rising and flooding of a river to be capable of protecting also the plants and fishes. CONSTITUTION: A floating island main unit 2, formed of buoyant material of foaming plastic resin or the like, is formed in almost a ship shape so as to be placed in a condition floating a bow part 4 above the water surface and sinking a stern part 5 under the water surface in a gentle slope, to constitute an artificial floating island 1 by providing a dummy root-shaped protrusion in a side and bottom surface of this floating island main unit 2. A refuge inlet, receiving the artificial floating island drawn in to a land side in a riverside, is provided to constitute accommodated facilities. |
