PURPOSE: To obtain a ceramic baked compact, reduced in dispersion in baking shrinkage factor and excellent in dimensional, positional accuracies, etc., by carrying out the pressurizing treatment of an unbaked ceramic compact only in a specific direction with a pressurizing means and then baking the pressurized compact. CONSTITUTION: An alumina powder, etc., together with a resin binder, a plasticizer, etc., are dispersed and mixed with an organic solvent and the resultant slurry is then formed according to a doctor blade method, etc., to provide an unbaked ceramic compact, which is then pressurized only in a specific direction with a pressurizing means to afford an unbaked ceramic compact having a prescribed density Dc after correction. Pressurization with a uniaxial press, an isostatic press, etc., is preferred as the pressurizing means. The prepared unbaked ceramic compact is further baked to afford a ceramic compact. Thereby, the baking shrinkage factor can be controlled with a good accuracy and the resultant ceramic compact can suitably be used as a ceramic substrate, etc. |
