FLAME-RETARDANT PAPER FOR VINYL WALL PAPER BACKING

PURPOSE: To obtain flame-retardant paper for vinyl wall paper backing having high opacity and whiteness. CONSTITUTION: This flame-retardant paper for vinyl wall paper backing is flame-retardant paper obtained by coating or impregnating a sheet comprising fibers and calcium carbonate with a flame-retardant. (1) The calcium carbonate is the one having >=0.2μm and <=0.8μm minor axis. (2) The content of the calcium carbonate in the total weight of the flame-retardant paper is 20-40wt.%. Spindle-shaped calcium silicate having 0.2μm-0.8μm minor axis and 3-4 aspect ratio obtained by a synthetic method is preferably used because of a narrow particle size distribution.
