PURPOSE: To provide a method for restraining the grinding abnormality of a roll grinder which does not depend on the experience of an operater and can detect grinding abnormality accurately and rapidly and restrain it and is suitable for automatic control. CONSTITUTION: A vibration sensor 13 is fitted to a roll grinder which conducts grinding by means of a grinding wheel 11 to rotate reversely a mounted roll 10, and grinding abnormality is judged by comparing the output value of the vibration sensor 13 with reference data, and in the case of grinding abnormality being present, the peripheral velocity (G) of the grinding wheel 11 and the peripheral velocity (R) of the roll 10 are changed simultaneously. |
