Disclosed is a coating composition curable at a low temperature, comprising (A) a hydroxyl-containing compound, (B) a metal chelate compound or a metal alcoholate compound and (C) a compound having an acid anhydride group. The composition may further include a chelate-forming compound (D) and/or a tertiary amine (E). The composition is particularly suitable for use as a coating composition for automobiles, plastics and electrical elements.
