PURPOSE: To provide a printer avoiding danger exposing a user to ink at the time of the replacement of an ink tank and preventing an ink leak at the time of the separation of the ink tank. CONSTITUTION: The joint part 2 of an ink tank 1 is pressed to the ink introducing part 4 of a printing head 3 to be connected to an ink passage and ink is supplied to the printing head 3 from the ink tank 1. A porous member 18 is provided to the joint part 2. When the ink tank 1 is mounted, the porous member 18 is compressed to be built in a connection part. When the ink tank 1 is separated from the printing head 3, the vol. of the porous member 18 itself increases and the porosity thereof increase. The ink remaining in the connection part is absorbed by the porous member 18 increased in porosity. By this constitution, the outflow of ink from the vicinity of the joint part at the time of the detachment of the ink tank is prevented. |
