FIELD: engines; cooling systems. SUBSTANCE: method provides cooling of internal combustion engine by liquid circulating in closed circuit. System has cooling circuit and heating circuit in which liquid temperature T is maintained within preset limits Tmin≅ T≅ Tmax both with engine operating and non-operating and located in medium with temperatures of Tmin<Te<Tmax and in medium with temperatures of Te<Tmin, where Tmin is, for instance, liquid freezing point. Heating of liquid is provided by self-contained heat source, for instance, heat accumulator consuming the heat of engine exhaust gases. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of engine cooling. |
