FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: product: new chemical compound, 2,3-bis(fluorodinitromethyl)dioxane-1,4, that can be used as a fusible component of explosive compositions of decreased sensitivity. Method of synthesis involves the treatment of solution of 1,1,4,4-tetranitrobutanediol-2,3 diacetate in ethylene glycol successively with aqueous solution of sodium hydrocarbonate and aqueous solution of ammonium fluorohydroxysulfate at the mole ratio diacetate : sodium hydrocarbonate : ammonium fluorohydroxysulfate 1:2:2.5 at temperature below 0 C. The yield of 2,3-bis(fluorodinitromethyl)dioxane-1,4 is 61%. EFFECT: increased energetic indices as compared with that of trotyl.
