FIELD: ferrous metallurgy and mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has power unit, open magnetic core, magnetizing and measurement coils, measurement unit with mictoampermeter. Steel sample under control covers air gap between magnetic cores. Cores have V-shaped projections positioned at right angle and provided with symmetrical double-staged recess of height equal to angle side length. It allows steel samples of different geometrical shape and size to be controlled.
