The weight measuring apparatus for a microwave oven includes a substrate inserted into a sensor case under a tray motor for a microwave oven, a variable resistor attached to the top of the substrate, a spring plate having both ends contacting the top of the variable resistor, a central top deformed by a shaft of the tray motor according to the weight of a foodstuff, so as to vary a resistance of the variable resistor, and a detecting circuit applying a voltage for weight detection to a microcomputer according to a variable of the resistance of the variable resistor.
