The retainer (11) of a cable (2) with a end nipple (3) onto a rotary cam (1) consists of two cheeks (4,5) forming part of the cam (1) between which is a throat (6). A primary stop (12) is attached to the first cheek (4) and the second stop element (13) in the form of a hook has a claw (14) which projects axially towards the first stop element (12) across the throat (6) to prevent the release of the cable (2).The claw (14) of the second stop element (13) is joined to the second cheek (5) by an elastically deformable part (15) to allow the fitting or release of the cable (2) from the throat (6). This deformable part (15) is contained inside a hole (17) of the second cheek (5) and is defined by two cavities (18,19) which extend along both sides of the retaining foot (15).
