The machine has a longitudinal frame (1) slewing on a mounting component secured to the tractor, and on which are two rotary rakes folding upwards. Land-wheels (8,8a) supporting the frame have steering arms (20) slewing them on vertical axes, and steer the frame the opposite way to the tractor. A shaft (14) parallel to the frame has arms (15,17) at opposite ends to the mounting component and is connected via track rods (18,16a) to the land-wheel steering arms. The shaft can be accommodated inside the girder of the longitudinal frame, and the arm (15) at its forward end can engage in a slide (13) fixed to the mounting component. Alternatively there can be a gear sector on the arm end, meshing with another fixed to the mounting component.
