The gas connector (22) in the casing (25) base screws directly into the gas bottle delivery valve. Gas flows, via a tap (23) and relief valve (24), to an injector (3) and air mixer (4). The combustible mixture passes up a central tube (26) to a distribution chamber (5) between the catalytic plate (6) and a heat-absorbing cooking plate (2).Combustion fumes pass down through the honeycombed catalytic plate into a collection chamber (15), enclosed by a deflector (8,8a), and escape to the exterior through a flame-suppressing metal screen (16). An insulating upper casing (21) guards the deflector side-walls (8a). Normally a piezo-electric spark-generator (20), striking to a metal screw-plug (19), provides ignition; in case of difficulty, the plug is unscrewed, allowing a lighted match to be inserted.
