In the production of veneered panelling units such as wainscot panels (15) with approximately shaped rounded long edges (6), a veneer butt-jointin the region of the long edges (6) can be avoided by using a blank (1) which is wider than the end block, the usable section of the blank being bounded by edge grooves (2) and the latterin turn bounded by edge ridges (5) which can support a sheet of veneer (7) etc. when laid on; and by then finishing the blank (1) laterally as far as the end block, after which the veneer sheet (7) etc. is pressed onto the flanks thus produced. |
