The ink feeding device (6) comprises a pressing member e.g. a lever (10) abutting against an ink retainer (8) having a wick member (9) capable of feeding ink to an ink ribbon (2) via roller (16) and (17). When the pressing member (10) presses the ink retainer (8), ink density in the ink retainer (8) is increased. The pressing member (10) causes ink present in the wick retainer (8), but remote from the wick (9), to move towards the wick (9).
