The chain clamp has two clamping parts (10) joined along a middle plane (5) with jaws (20) and a screw fastening (28). The two clamping parts are supported by a central support cam (15) and in the region of the jaws by two groups of ribs (26), lying tangentially to the chain member and symmetrically to a transverse middle plane (29). The ribs have a square cross-section, and the jaws are trapezoidal in shape.
