The sleeve incorporates a joint and a locking device. It has protrusions which bear against the sides of radial lugs on the coupling halves.The protrusions (17,18) on the sleeve (14) are parallel to the lengthwise axis and offset from each other. One of them (18) can be bent at right-angles towards the axis, while the other (17) can be parallel to the axis and have a radial rib (17a). The locking device can form a clamp.
