A method for repairing worn or deformed slides of zip fasteners including the steps of: a) moving the slide towards the joined end of the rows of teeth; b) locking the slide along the first longitudinal plane of simmetry of the two plates of the slide; c) causing the inward localized plastic deformation of the wings of the slide, proximate to their rear end, along a second plane of simmetry, at right angle to the first plane of simmetry, to restore their original minimum distance, so as to allow the rows of teeth to mesh by sliding the slide. A device for repairing worn slides includes a clamp (1) for clamping the slide (c) and a tool for deforming the wings of the slide.
