Process for continuous mfr. of sheets of wood esp. plywood or chipboard

The process involves the reduction in moisture content of the material to be pressed containing a binder between its discharge from the spreader (1) and its entry into the main press (3). The moisture is removed by heating and passing hot air over the material supported on perforated pref. woven continuous bands (10,11).The material is at a reduced moisture content and temperature closer to the polymerisation temperature of the binder set with consideration of the speed of the reaction before its entry into the main press. Final compaction and complete hardening takes place within the main press.
