<p>In an electric power steering apparatus, a control unit is divided into two units. A first control unit which determines a first motor current target value is constructed only by hardware. A second control unit includes a fail-safe unit not required to respond quickly. The second control unit determines a second motor current target value, and outputs, to the first control unit, a signal for changing the first motor current target value on the basis of the first motor current target value, the second motor current target value, a driving current, and a signal indicative of a condition of a vehicle. By sharing of roles in this way, it is possible to enhance the responsivity of the apparatus to a steering operation and to realize the reduction in production costs. <IMAGE></p> |
