The regeneration blocking apparatus using detection hall for a video tape, comprises a tape in which a detection hall is formed; a detection hall discriminating unit for discriminating the detection hall of the tape according to the degree of pressure of a tap switch; a lock-release unit for outputting a password; a microcomputer for controlling the regeneration or eject of the tape depending upon output signals from both of the detection hall discriminating unit and the lock-release unit; and a deck for driving or not driving the tape under control of the micro computer.
