The invention provides a method of applying a textured surface to plastics-coated tube in which the textured effect is applied during the coating process. A tube (22) is passed through an extrusion head (16) and plastics material is extruded through a die (18) in the head (16) around the tube (22) to form a coating (24) thereon, the plastics material being heated to a temperature to plasticise it prior to passage to the extrusion head (16) and being cooled to below that temperature before extrusion through the die onto the tube. |
