<p>A spigot end or a socket (not illustrated) for a pipe (10) comprises a coaxial dimensioning ring (20) and a sealing ring (30) arranged coaxially with the dimensioning ring on an outer or inner surface thereof, as appropriate. The sealing ring (30) is at least partially embedded in the dimensioning ring. This avoids an inappropriate sealing ring being fitted to the socket or spigot on site.
