PURPOSE: To early detect the connection failure of a cable by providing a transmission circuit which transmits the potential of each block to the opposite party side as a connection signal and a circuit which detects the connected or open state of a signal line by the difference of potentials of the connection signals received from the opposite party side. CONSTITUTION: This device consists of the circuit blocks 1 and 2 which are connected to each other via the cables 31 and 32. These blocks 1 and 2 are provided with the transmission circuits 21 and 41 which transmit the potentials to each other as the connection signals, and the detection circuits 22 and 12 which detect the connected or open states of the signal lines by the difference of potentials of the connection signals received from each opposite party side. The cable 31 contains the connection signal lines 51 and 52 to transmit the connection signals, and the cable 32 contains the notification signal lines 53 and 54 to transmit the output signals of the circuits 22 and 12 to each opposite party side as the notification signals. For instance, the circuit 12 can early detect the connection failure of the cable 31 that occurs at a connector 41. |
