PURPOSE: To provide a diaphragm for a battery and the battery using its diaphragm which are excellent in chemical resistance, heat resistance and a hydrophilic property and by which the deterioration of mechanical strength and nonconformity of wetting or the like are not caused in hydrophilicity forming process and battery characteristics can be improved and the service life of the battery can be lengthened. CONSTITUTION: A diaphragm of a battery is composed of a hydrophilic resin porous body film by sticking a high temperature resistant, strong alkaline and hydrophilic polymer in a coating film shape to a surface of at least its fine fiber, a micro-node or a hole wall of a fluororesin porous body film. A positive electrode and a negative electrode can be isolated from each other by using the diaphragm. |
