PURPOSE: To switch a connection-destination computer of a work station in a short period of time. CONSTITUTION: A work station 3 outputs a download-involved connection request to a host computer (e.g. host computer 1) which is predetermined or specially instructed when the power source is turned on. Consequently, the host computer download program for the work station 3 in a library 6 to the work station 3 and performs a connection process with the program to create a connection state with the work station 3. If a fault occurs in the host computer 1 in this state, the work station 3 sends a no-download connection request to another host computer 2. Consequently, the host computer 2 performs a connection process with the program which is already downloaded to the work station 3 to create a connection state with the work station 3. |
