PURPOSE: To obtain a polyester sheath-core type conjugate fiber which develops clear multicolor expression effect with different color tones and different concentrations. CONSTITUTION: This conjugate fiber comprises one of 2 kinds of polyester fiber different in dyeability as the sheath component and the other as the core, has thick and thin parts in the fiber axial direction, 5-7% variation coefficient in yarn thickness as a whole, and 2-4/m the frequency value X in thickness unevenness, more than 15% variation rate to the average value. Undrawn conjugate yarn is heat-drawn using hot pin under the conditions satisfying the followings: (1) MDR×0.45<=DR<=MDR×0.60, (2) P1 T<=Tc, and/or (3) Tg<=P2 T<=Tc where DR is draw ratio, MDR is the maximum draw ratio of the undrawn yarn, P1 T is the temperature of the first friction pin in deg.C, P2 T is the second friction pin temperature in deg.C, Tc is the crystallization temperature of the undrawn yarn in deg.C and Tg is the glass transition temperature in deg.C; to form thick and thin parts in the filament axis direction. |
