<p>PURPOSE: To reduce the squeak of a brake by installing a cup-shaped piston for giving the displacement to a brake pad and installing a weight through an elastic body in the inside space. CONSTITUTION: A disc brake is equipped with a cup-shaped piston 4 for giving a displacement to an inner pad 1 by the high pressure generated in a brake booster and a caliper 5 which is equipped with the piston 4 built in and supports the nipping operation of a disc rotor 3, and a weight 7 is installed through an elastic body 6 in the inside space of the piston 4. When the mass of the weight 7 is (m) and the spring constant of the elastic body 6 is (k), the characteristics vibration frequency of the weight 7 f0 =(1/(2π))√(k/m) is set lower than the squeal frequency fS due to a brake shoe. Accordingly, the squeak of the brake in brake application can be reduced, and the effect is large on a large-sized vehicle having the large size of the disc brake, and even if the brake pad is replaced, the change of performance is not generated, and the reduction of generation of squeak can be continued.</p> |
